    Vistara starts direct flight from Delhi to Male

    Vistara has started direct flights from the national capital to Maldives' capital Male, and Air India announced that it will commence non-stop services between Kochi and Doha from October 23. The flight, to be operated with an A320 neo aircraft, will offer 162 seats, including 150 economy and 12 in business class seats.

    India's civil aviation market has the potential to add 130-150 more wide-body planes as airlines expand and consider deploying them in dense domestic routes, according to GE Aerospace South Asia CEO Vikram Rai. Currently, there are only about 50 wide-body aircraft in India's fleet of 700 commercial planes.

Of the 40 A350s, six are A350-900 planes and five of them are scheduled for delivery through March 2024. Air India signed purchase agreements to acquire these aircraft with Airbus and Boeing in June this year.
