Synopsis

In an imagined conversation, John, a fictitious tech junkie, and Dr Prime, our in-house know-it-all virtual assistant, dig deeper into the nuances of direct-to-mobile technology, the challenges in deploying it, and an alternative way forward.

Direct-to-mobile (D2M) broadcast technology has been under tests and trials globally for quite some time. Earlier this month, there were reports that the Indian government is also exploring the feasibility of using this technology to beam live TV channels and other emergency services directly to mobiles using D2M broadcast technology.
