Should you buy?
Earlier run as ICICI Prudential Top 200, this fund adopted the multi-cap mandate in 2020. This entailed a portfolio reshuffle towards mid caps and small caps. Apart from the mandatory 25% allocation to each market-cap segment, the fund manager uses his own discretion to invest the balance according to the fund house macro view. The fund runs a highly diversified portfolio of more than 100 stocks to manage liquidity risk inherent in mid- and small-cap segments. The fund manager adopts the growth lens to filter biggest conviction ideas from the fund house’s extensive analyst team. The fund has comfortably outperformed its index since its repositioning. Continued strong showing will make it a worthy pick in its category.
