    Hockey Canada made an official announcement that Everett Silvertips head coach Dennis Williams would be replacing Dave Cameron. Wlliams helped Canada win a gold medal this past summer in his lone tournament with the junior club. He has earlier served as one of the assistant coaches on Cameron's Staff for 2022 competition.

    Williams, a Stratford native brings with him years of coaching experience and proven success - for Canada’s World Junoir team. No coach has won as many games as William has in the NHL ever since he took over as the Silvertips head bench boss in 2017-2018. His past experience with the 2022 squad will certainly benefit many players such as Connor Bedard, Olen Zellweger, and Logan Stankoven to return for the 2023 edition with eyes locked on winning by reaching the top spot and becoming champions again.


    Who is Dennis Williams?

    After playing for three full seasons with his hometown team, the Stratford Cullitons during the mid-90s in a since defunct Mid-Western Junior Hockey League, Williams moved on to college hockey, playing for Bowling Green State University in the NCAA.

    Serving as the head coach for Canada Black at U17 World Hockey Challenge, Williams marked his first appearance with Canada's National program during the 2018-19 season. This was followed by him becoming the assistant with Canada's U18 team at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup the very next year.

    Coaching Record
    In the five seasons that Williams has completed with Everett, the team has seen massive success. Everett finished first in the US division of WHL’s Western Conference, four out of five times and achieved the best regular season record in the western conference three times. Excluding the current season, Williams has a record of 204 wins, 66 losses, 12OT losses, and 12 shootout losses while leading Everett.
