The cricketing extravaganza, the Indian Premier League (IPL), is the golden goose for broadcasters and advertisers. Reliance-backed Viacom18 has won the lion's share of IPL by winning Package B and C for a total of INR23,758 crore. Earlier, it had bagged the exclusive broadcast rights for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in India, reportedly for USD54 million.
