    MEIL bags order worth $648 million for oil refinery in Mongolia

    Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has secured a $648 million work order in Mongolia from Mongol Refinery State Owned LLC. The agreement was signed between the two companies at Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia. As part of the contract, MEIL will build a diesel hydrotreater unit, hydrocracker unit, and various other units of Mongolia’s first oil refinery.

    SC upholds BHEL's decision to award Rs 400-cr tender to BTL

    The Supreme Court has upheld Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd's decision to award a Rs 400-crore tender to BTL EPC Ltd for setting up an ash handling plant. The court set aside a Karnataka High Court's order that had quashed the tender, stating that substantial work had already been done on the project. The High Court had quashed the tender due to concerns over national security, as BTL EPC had a consortium agreement with Chinese company Fujian Longking Co. The Supreme Court rejected the argument, stating that BHEL had determined the eligibility and found no breach.

    State-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on Monday announced that it has bagged an order from NHPC for its 2,880 MW Dibang multipurpose project in Arunachal Pradesh. The order for the electro-mechanical (E&M) work for the project has been bagged against a stiff competition under international competitive bidding, BHEL said in a statement.

    Punj Lloyd fails to attract any bidder in second round of e-auction

    Debt-ridden engineering company Punj Lloyd has failed to attract any buyers in the second round of e-auctions conducted by its liquidator. The auction, conducted on the directions of the National Company Law Tribunal, had a reserved price of Rs 1,061 crore on a going concern basis. This comes after the company also failed to find buyers in the first round of e-auctions.

    The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has levied a penalty of Rs 10 lakh on Cummins for failing to notify the regulator about the acquisition of sole control of Meritor. The transaction pertains to the acquisition of sole control of Meritor by Cummins by way of reverse triangular merger, where Rose NewCo Inc, a company newly incorporated by Cummins, merged with and into Meritor, and the latter survived as a directly wholly-owned subsidiary of Cummins, the CCI said in an order.
