Engineers to be held accountable, face action for any pothole on highways: Govt
The government aims to cover the entire national highway network under a perpetual maintenance contract to streamline the process and reduce delays. The initiative is urgent due to the high number of road accidents caused by potholes in 2021. The government also plans to involve engineering students in detecting potholes and identifying maintenance deficiencies.
